U.S. Reaches Record High Numbers of International Students

The Institute of International Education released a report that international student numbers in the U.S. have risen 8.1 percent to an all time high of 886,052. Saudi Arabia, Brazil, and Kuwait experienced the greatest increases, while China’s student numbers fell below 20 percent for the first time since 2008. Though international student numbers are increasing, the U.S. is experiencing a decline in market shares of international students due, in part, to a need to improve student immigration policies.
