The INS is continuing its expansion of the direct mail program for naturalizations. Persons served by the following local INS District Offices now must submit their N-400 Naturalization Applications to the INS California Service Center:

– Honolulu

– Phoenix

– San Diego

– Las Vegas

– Agana

– Calexico

– Reno

– Tucson

The program became effective March 23, 1998. For the first 60 days, applications received at the local offices will be forwarded by the office to the California Service Center. After that time, applications will be returned to the applicant with notification to submit to the California Service Center.

On April 15th, the INS is set to expand the program again. Persons in the following local offices districts will begin direct filing with the Texas Service Center:

– Dallas

– Harlingen

– Houston

– San Antonio

– Albuquerque

– Oklahoma City

The same 60 day phase-in will apply.
