The release of the rules for the upcoming green card lottery (expected to occur as early as February of this year), have been delayed due to the budget impasse in Congress. Originally, the rules were supposed to be released in mid-December 1995. Presumably, they will be released shortly after the government shutdown ends. No word has yet been released on whether the dates that applications for the lottery will be accepted has been altered due to the delay.
On a related note, Siskind and Susser is pleased to announce that it is once again sponsoring a comprehensive web site explaining the lottery. Please check our web site at http://visalaw.wpengine.com/~gsiskind/. We will once again include a detailed question and answer document explaining how to enter. This year we will also include an online registration form for people who would like to have our firm submit the application. This should be of interest to those who are nervous about making a mistake on the application, those concerned about getting the application in on time because they are outside the US and those who simply do not wish to bother thoroughly learning the rules.
