An Immigration and Naturalization Service official in Boston has been accused of arranging fake marriages for employees of his brother’s restaurant. The scheme in which the INS employee allegedly participated involved the making of payments to US citizens as compensation for marrying the foreign employee. The INS employee’s brother is said to have arranged the marriages and the INS employee prepared the immigration papers for filing. The brother has now pleaded guilty to a 14 count indictment.

The case is the latest in a string of investigations into fraudulent activities by INS employees. Last month, we reported on a much larger scheme involving several employees of the Manhatten INS office.
