Visas now required for citizens of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

The minister of Citizenship and Immigration announced on September 5, 2002 that citizens of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia would now require a Canadian temporary resident visa to travel to Canada. The requirement comes into effect in September 5, 2002. Citizenship and Immigration Canada has provided a grace period for Citizens of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia who have already left their country of residence and are in transit. The period ends on September 6, 2002 at 23:59 EDT. Citizens of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia can apply for a temporary resident visa at any Canadian visa office abroad. Citizens from 145 countries require a visa to travel to Canada.
